Profile

Let us introduce it to you!

Algoma University is a community of over 1,200 students learning, thinking, and growing together. Our University is large enough to offer great diversity, but small enough to offer a sense of community. You will find a place where you belong!

Algoma U is located in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada, at the heart of the Great Lakes and nestled on the Canadian/US border. The World Health Organization has designated Sault Ste. Marie an International Safe Community. The city has a population of approximately 75,000. We offer over 30 undergraduate programs, some with co-operative education opportunities. Algoma U students have been very successful getting employment after graduation as well as gaining admission to Teacher's College, Law School, as well as other professional and graduate degree programs. The employment rate for graduates is one of the highest in the province. There's also a great varsity sports program.

Recent campus additions include dormitory style residence, a 36,000 square foot Information Communication Technology Building, a fully wired classroom wing, fine arts studio, and a new million dollar Student Centre.
